Dr. Michael McFaul served as U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation during President Obama's administration. He presented credentials to then Russian President Medvedev in 2012. Previously, he served as Special Assistant to President Obama and Senior Director for Russian and Eurasian Affairs at the White House National Security Council. Presently, he is serving as director at Stanford University's Institute for International Studies. He is the author of NY Times-bestselling From Cold War to Hot Peace: An American Ambassador in Putin’s Russia.

ECC's Bincheng Mao moderates this interview with Ambassador McCaul. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Inclusion Advocate and President of the East Coast Coalition for Tolerance and Non-Discrimination (ECC). Under his leadership, ECC has mobilized young volunteers from across the country to serve minorities struggling to access health care and other social services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
