Recently, ECC's Charlotte Wu and Bincheng Mao sat down with Dr. Esther Duflo, 2019 Nobel laureate in Economics, to discuss poverty alleviation, trends in wealth inequality in the US, and social inclusion for vulnerable people.

Our distinguished guest today is Dr. Esther Duflo, the youngest-ever Nobel Laureate in Economics and second female to be awarded. She was honored for her "experimental approach to alleviating global poverty." Dr. Duflo is the Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. She was previously appointed by US President Obama to the White House Global Development Council. Born in Paris, Dr. Duflo has also been named a Commander of the French Legion of Honor.
